The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M553dn is a superb printer with incredibly high black and color page yields and one of the fastest print speeds we've measured. The Brother MFC-元770CDW is an excellent choice for small or home office printers, but its page yield isn't as good as the Canon imageCLASS MF743Cdw. However, it has much worse page yields and a smaller paper tray. The Canon imageCLASS MF644Cdw is a similarly performing laser color printer to the Canon imageCLASS MF743Cdw and supports third-party cartridges.
Cheaper Alternative: Brother HL-L2370DW. Overall, this is a great laser printer if you're on a budget. That said, it does have a flatbed scanner that lets you save your scans as searchable PDFs if you create a profile. It's even worse if they're all double-sided since you need to manually flip over each page yourself. Unfortunately, it doesn't have an automatic document feeder, which is only a big deal if you scan documents with lots of pages often. That said, you can always use Wi-Fi or a USB cable to print if you prefer. On another note, it supports Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service, so you can easily print from your phone or tablet, and there's also a mobile app that you can print, scan, and copy from. Anyway, you can print about 4000 pages before the toner runs out, so you likely won't need to buy replacements too often. The toner cartridge is on the more expensive side, but it has a drum unit built-in, so you don't need to dish out more money to replace it separately. While it isn't the fastest printer we've tested at 28 PPM, it's still a lot faster than other laser options. While it can't print in color, it does what it's meant to do well: print black and white documents.
